The blog is back! When I took a break last spring, I didn’t intend to be gone for so long. But my projects mushroomed, and I’ve just now managed to get my schedule under control.  My apologies, and I hope that the archived posts have been helpful while I’ve been preoccupied.

I’ve been working on two new projects that I hope you will find useful.  The first is a new book, Protecting Other People’s Children: 120 Days to A Strong Child Safety Policy, with my co-author and law partner, Tom Rawlings.  The book for anyone who works in a youth organization, and it discusses how to create a child protection policy that will become an integral part of your program.  Buy your copy from our new website and let us know what you think.  If you like it, please help spread the word and leave a review on Amazon or other book sellers’ websites.

The second project is YSO Academy, where we provide a series of online courses for foster parents, stepparents, and people working in youth organizations.  I’m collaborating with friends who are experts in their fields with long experience in youth serving organizations (YSOs).  We discuss topics such as mandated reporting and how to work with children who have suffered trauma.  You can find us at www.YSOAcademy.com, and you can buy my books there

I’m creating a series for foster parents and stepparents that you can check out there.  You can try a free class or download my eBook about how to be the mentor rather than the villain in the stories that our children tell themselves.   Check out our offerings and let us know what you think.
